Introduction
I earned my degree at the Semmelweis University Faculty of General Medicine with summa cum laude honors. After graduating, I started working as a resident at the Semmelweis University Department of Ophthalmology, where I joined the Oncology and Reconstructive Surgery Working Group early on. This early experience laid the foundation for my special interest in reconstructive, aesthetic and tumor surgery of the eyelids.
After passing the Hungarian ophthalmology board exam, I also successfully completed the international European board exam (FEBO: Fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmology). I earned my PhD in 2025.
I currently work as a clinical specialist, where besides outpatient care I also carry out surgical, teaching and research activities. I am first author and co-author of international and Hungarian scientific publications, and I regularly give presentations at Hungarian and international congresses.
As vice president of the Young Ophthalmologists Section of the Hungarian Society of Ophthalmology and as a member of the Orbit Section, I also take an active part in professional life. Previously, I was a member of the Young Ophthalmologists Committee of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS) for four years.
My professional interest centers on surgery of the eyelids and the area around them.
This field includes many overlapping and complementary areas:
- functional surgery: correction of eyelid malpositions (e.g. ptosis, entropion, ectropion),
- reconstructive surgery: restoration after injuries or previous surgeries,
- tumor surgery: removal of eyelid tumors and their functional and aesthetic reconstruction,
- aesthetic surgery: aesthetic procedures of the eyelids and the periorbital region.
